LEPICOL SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Of course the best way to take Lepicol is to mix it with water or fruit juice and follow this up with the extra liquid that is required. However, it is accepted that not everyone will find Lepicol easy to take. The following suggestions may help in providing some suitable alternatives.

Milk shake/meal replacement/smoothie

Lepicol could be mixed into a milk shake quite easily. Because of the fibrous nature of the product it will not dissolve, but it will mix in quite well. Naturally, because of its absorbent qualities, Lepicol will make a milk shake thicker than normal so some experimentation may be required. It may be preferable to try with smaller amounts of Lepicol intitially to try and find a level that is suitable. Please ensure that the required levels of liquid are met, either in the milk shake itself or by consuming more liquid afterwards.

Breakfast cereals

Cereals that mix easily with liquid will provide the best vehicles for Lepicol. An obvious example is Ready Break. However, as in the case of Milk Shakes, it may be necessary to use more milk/water than usual. It is particularly important that Lepicol and the cereal are mixed in really well with the liquid if it is to be served to children. Porridge is another good option. Simply add Lepicol to the porridge after it has been cooked. Remember to take extra liquid either by making the porride more runny than normal, or by drinking more water before or after consumption.

Also, don’t forget the yoghurts.  Lepicol can be easily mixed into your favourite yoghurt (preferable natural with no artificial additives or sweeterners!
