LEPICOL AND SENSITIVE BOWELS

Elimination on a regular basis is of course important, but if this is too regular and the stools are not well formed, healthy bacteria will be eliminated, leading to an unhealthy environment and leaving the bowels more prone to infection. Quite often, this can lead to a vicious circle that can only get worse until the causes are properly diagnosed and treated. These causes can be varied and numerous. In delicate conditions like this, abrasive fibres from wheat bran and certain fruits may only serve to irritate further and should be avoided. Lepicol can continue to be taken as it has a gentle mode of action.

Can Lepicol help?

If Lepicol can help sluggish bowels, how can it possibly help 'loose' bowels? This does of course appear to be very contradictory. However, after Lepicol is added to water, the soft gel that is formed helps to form bulk and this can help slow down a loose situation by consolidating matter in the Colon. This then gives the pre and probiotics in Lepicol a chance to start doing their work, re-populating the Colon with healthy bacteria, so that healthy bacteria are not replaced with unfriendly species.
Sometimes, things may get a little worse before they get better, as mucus and other matter that may have impacted on the Colon wall is removed. However, as the system is gradually cleared, if the bacteria can get a hold, then the overall health of the Colon should improve. If there is any severe discomfort and this continues, then the dosage of Lepicol should be reduced until the discomfort disappears.

General diet and antioxidants

If your system is moving too fast therefore, you must not only consider taking extra soluble, gentle fibre as used in Lepicol (not bran or abrasive fibre) but you should also look at your overall diet as well, making sure you eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables to ensure you receive plenty of antioxidants which can offer extra benefit to the colon wall. This is very important and we have reiterated this advice in other sections of this web site.

If you would like more information on antioxidants and how they work, please see the section under MAXTRACT the name of a new product from Lepicol. MAXTRACT provides those antioxidants that have been shown through research to offer benefits to the bowel wall.
