A natural and gentle cleanse for your bowel health

A natural and gentle daily cleanse for your bowels

Lepicol is a three in one formula which, when taken regularly can help to keep your bowels healthy. It has been developed as a daily, gentle, natural work-out for your bowels.

The Lepicol Original Formula is now taken regularly by more than 100,000 people across 21 countries in Europe. It is growing all the time, mainly by word of mouth.

This formulation is so popular because it is easy to take yet so effective. People can see the difference after taking Lepicol, usually within 3-4 days.

With today’s busy lives and irregular eating patterns, many of us find it difficult to keep our bowels healthy. Lepicol, with its combination of gentle fibres, probiotic cultures and natural prebiotics, can make that task far easier.

Lepicol’s three in one formula works in three different ways.

Gentle Fibre

The first ingredient in Lepicol is Psyllium, the gentle plant fibre. I often refer to Psyllium as the ‘Rolls Royce’ of fibre because it is so gentle. Psyllium absorbs 25 times its own weight in water to form a soft gel which is soothing even to the most sensitive of systems. This gel acts like a sponge and helps keep the bowels clear of unwanted mucus and waste matter.

It works more like a chamois leather rather than the ‘brillo’ effect that some of the more abrasive fibres have.

Lepicol is a good source of fibre for everyone and in particular, if you have food allegies and are avoiding wheat and other sources of fibre.

But fibre isn’t the only ingredient that you need to help keep your bowels healthy.

Healthy bowels also need lots of ‘friendly’ bacteria.

A good bacterial balance in the intestine is important to maintain good bowel health. That’s why Lepicol contains five different probiotic cultures to provide a broad based nutritional support for your bowels. They help to keep the environment in the large bowel ‘friendly’ and to help prevent ‘putrefaction’ a situation where undigested food can decay in the small and large intestine.

The importance of combining healthy bacteria with the right type of gentle fibre

If your digestive system is moving too fast, and your stools are not well formed, bacteria that arrives in the bowels can be flushed straight through and lost. In the same way, if the bowels are sluggish and do not empty often enough, bad bacteria can sometimes get the upper hand and overcome any ‘good’ bacteria.

This is where the psyllium fibre in Lepicol can help. The bulk it forms when mixed with water helps to normalise transit time (for both fast and slow digestive systems) and this creates a stable environment for the healthy bacteria to flourish.

The levels of good bacteria are also enhanced by the third ingredient in Lepicol, Inulin.

How our ancestors kept their bowels healthy with inulin.

Some vegetables contain a natural ingredient commonly know as ‘Inulin’ that can help you make your own healthy bacteria.

The main ones are leeks, onions, artichokes and chicory. These vegetables have lots of good fibre but it is the inulin content which has been shown to be the most helpful for your bowels. In fact our pre historic ancestors consumed a diet which was very high in inulin containing vegetables, particularly onions and agave.

These days however the levels of inulin you will get in the average diet is fairly small. It is difficult to reach really good levels.

It is for this reason that we include good levels in Lepicol. Our inulin is extracted from chicory.

Inulin is so healthy and supportive to bowel health because your body converts it to bifidum bacteria once it reaches your colon. This strain of friendly bacteria has specific benefits for bowel health.

Pro and prebiotics have more benefits when taken together

Inulin and probiotics cultures have been found to be synergistic. In research circles, this is know as the ‘synbiotic effect.’ The one enhances the activities of the other.

If you add the psyllium fibre to this situation, you have the perfect trio of natural food ingredients for keeping your bowels clean and healthy on a daily basis.
